Lunatik comes from an observation of the bakala music subculture on the northern route in the Basque Country and Navarra. At the same time, how the entire aesthetic around that movement was ephemeral in its time, disappearing but returning today to the lives of many young and not so young people nostalgic for a past of freedom, fun and style.

Embrace the “bakala” aesthetic and give it value in contemporary fashion, distancing it from social stigmas but emphasizing its marginal, original and subcultural spirit.

Logo progression.

Final logo.

This first collection is based on an strambotic use of color and texture, not only in the body of the glasses but also in the lenses. The shape of the glasses brings us directly to a past of references very well studied, but most important, to a past that we enjoy.

Lunatik talks about spirit, about personality, about wearing and doing specific pieces to express yourself no matter what.

Prototyping process.

Final prototype.

This process, which started with a 3D scan of my own head in order to be as accurate in measures as possible, was many times characterized for being a trial and error work. Many prototypes had to ve developed for them to fit well and have exact tolerances, etc. However, learning was key in this process, and the knowledge acquired is key.

3D Printing was carried out in a FormLabs Form 4 printer, while modeling was done in Blender.
