Joints are a key procces when upcycling.
They permit us to join unimaginable objects with others in order to obtain innovative ones.

BENCH is a project that pretends to upcycle unused material and transform it into a functional object through joints.
The plastic material it is made from was collected from a company which was going to throw it away. It came in plates of 55 x 75 cm and 3 mm of thickness.
By repeating a pattern of joints, the properties of the material allows the BENCH to be sufficiently stable and at the same time to be to be folded into an accordion shape with ease.
Thanks to this technique, the BENCH can be vary its length by adding or taking apart plates from it.
Plastic is one of the materials that takes the longest time to degrade, between 100 and 1000 years due to it is derived from various petroleum chemicals such as polylactic acid.
